Nicolette Burke has worked with a range of organisations, from small business to Government and major corporations, to help craft their online message.
Nicolette’s last role was working with a federal department of the Australian Government, managing internal online communications for a staff of 3000 and a public-facing website receiving several hundred thousand unique visitors a month.
Her current position is on the news desk of The Australian’s website.
Working with Australia’s national broadcaster
Nicolette was a key researcher involved with the ABC’s quality assurance project, which aimed to quantify the accuracy of its news broadcasts and ensure journalistic compliance with editorial standards.
As part of this program, she also delivered a guest lecture to post-graduate communications students at the University of Melbourne on key messaging techniques, and staying on-message in a fast-paced world.
V/Line, Victoria’s regional railroad
This project required Nicolette to journey to Bendigo, Ballarat, Echuca and Geelong, to create a series of travel stories to promote regional tourism.
The project resulted in an online travel brochure titled “Discover Victoria”, comprising text, images and podcasts.
Key messages for the real estate industry
The Makeover Group wanted to get the message out – people selling their homes could earn tens of thousands more by presenting their homes properly for the sale.
This project involved working with the company to draft key messages and compelling copy and get these into print.
